Beat the Peak - How You Can Help

You may be asking yourself this question – why does the South Central Indiana REMC want me to reduce my consumption?  The answer is quite simple – the South Central Indiana REMC is different than most electric utilities because it is a cooperative.  Since we are a cooperative, we are owned by YOU and all the other 34,000 members that are served by the REMC.  Our goal has always been to provide energy to you at the lowest possible cost while encouraging you to use this energy wisely and efficiently.  If we all work together to promote wise and efficient use of this energy, we can help hold down future energy costs that you pay each month.

What can you do to help?

First and foremost, you can help by signing up for the “Beat the Peak” program so you will be alerted when peak periods are approaching.  If you participate, you will be alerted by email, text message, or a phone call as to the anticipated day and time of the PEAK period.

Once you are notified or alerted as to the upcoming peak period, please use energy wisely during this time period and follow the suggestions for using energy wisely.

Also, you can take advantage of some of the other SCI REMC Energy Management Programs.  In addition to “Beat the Peak”, these programs will also help in reducing the peak demand for SCI REMC.
