New Website Feature
How to view your electric usage by hour or day and see what a Time-of-Use Rate would mean for you.
Please Note: When you register for the first time on our website, it may take a few hours before you are able to view the hourly usage graphs and rate comparison mentioned below. A synchronization between the database and the data files occurs at 4am, noon, and 6pm each day. So, if you registered at 2pm in the afternoon, the hourly usage graphs, etc. will be viewable after 6pm that same day.
A letter from our CEO, Kevin Sump, was inserted with your January, 2011, electric bill. In this letter, Kevin referenced a new feature on our website that would allow you to compare the standard electric rate with a time-of-use rate and also view your electric usage by hour. This feature was made possible by purchasing software (meter data management software from Harris NorthStar) that would allow our customers to view their usage online. This access will show you your electric usage down to each hour of the day. This online information will also show you a comparison between the Residential Rate and our new Time-of-Use Rate. But how do you view this information and what will you see when you access it?

Click on the "Meter Data Graphs" link on the left and it expands to give you three options:
- Daily Usage
- Weekly Usage
- Monthly Usage
If you select "Daily Usage" you will see a chart like this showing you the hourly usage for the most current day recorded:

The hours shown in red represent the on-peak hours for the Time-of-Use rate. The hours shown in green represent the off-peak hours for the Time-of-Use rate. This is to emphasize the peak hours of the day even if you are not on the Time-of-Use rate. You can look at hourly usage for any previous day by clicking on the left-pointing arrow. Click on the "?" and it will give you helpful hints on navigating through this page. Clicking on weekly or monthly usage on the left will display graphs accordingly.
Rate Comparison
If you click on the Rate Comparison link on the left side you will see these two options:
- Compare Residential Rate to TOU Rate
- Compare Residential Rate to Seasonal Rate

If you click on the "Compare Residential Rate to TOU Rate" link you will see a chart and graph like this:

This chart will show you what your bills would look like if you changed from the Residential Rate to the Time-of-Use Rate month by month based on your actual hourly usage over the past 12 months. Once you have looked at this information, feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or would like more information about optional rates.
