Budget Billing

South Central Indiana REMC is pleased to offer our budget billing program for electric bill payments for residential members.

Participation in the Budget Billing Program is voluntary and enables the member to pay an equal amount for their electric each month.

The budget amounts are calculated based on the previous twelve (12 ) months kilowatt-hour usage using the current rate tariff along with other applicable charges including security lights and sales tax.

For new members and members with less than twelve (12) months consumption, the budget will be calculated based on estimated kilowatt-hour usage using the Home Energy Calculator.

The twelfth (12th) month will be used as the “settle up” month to bring the account to a zero balance. A new fixed budget will then be calculated for the next twelve-month period.

In order to qualify for this program, a member must meet the following requirements:

• Available to residential customers only
• Must meet approved on-line credit check
• Must have a zero balance on their account prior to beginning the program
• Bills must be paid on time to remain on the program
• Any member removed from the budget billing program for non-payment must wait at least twelve (12) months to reapply and the full amount of any balance will be due. Normal disconnect and delinquencies rules apply.
• Members who present a check for payment that is not honored will automatically be removed from the Budget Billing Program.
