1st Meeting of the Member Advisory Committee

The first meeting of the newly formed Member Advisory Committee was held in June, 2008. The committee members received an in-depth look at the cooperative during the evening event.

“Being on the committee gives the members a sense of larger issues facing the cooperative,” said President and CEO Kevin Sump. “They see that all electric cooperatives work together and that issues facing the electric utility industry are both local and national.

The June agenda included an update on the recent storm damage, SCI energy efficiency programs and the launch of the national campaign “Our Energy, Our Future”. The meeting concluded with an open dialogue between the membership and discussion of topics for the next meeting. The committee will meet approximately three times annually and they will  represent the membership at the Annual meeting as well.
