SCI REMC employees utilize office recycling as part of our GoGreen efforts. The cardboard, newspapers, bottles, and cans that employees recycle result in monetary proceeds that are donated to local charitable organizations, which are selected by REMC employees. Past recipients include Martinsville’s Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Wellspring Center, and Desert Rose.

Here is the total volume of paper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum, etc. the SCI REMC employees have recycled to date:

• 123 Cell Phones
• 33,000 lbs. of cardboard recycled
• 1,352 lbs. of plastic (equal to 21,632-20 oz. bottles)
• 5,700 lbs. of paper (equal to 22,800 newspapers)
• 360 lbs. of aluminum (equal to 12,240-12 oz. aluminum cans)
• 2,300 wooden pallets
