Rate Tariffs

Effective July 1, 2007, your South Central Indiana REMC electric rates changed to better reflect the actual costs of providing services to you.  Shown below are the various rate schedules that we offer for different types of electrical service.  Most of our members fall under the Residential and Farm Rate – RS, shown as the first rate in the list.  Feel free to contact our office if you have any questions about these new rates.

In addition to these new rates, we are changing the way your electric bill looks by adding a separate line item for each of the various costs included in your bill.  These costs have always been part of your bill, but were previously included in your usage charges even though they are fixed costs.  To better understand your new bill, click here to see an example.

PURPA Standards

The Public Utilities Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA) was recently modified as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Several new standards were added to the list that state regulatory authorities and non-regulated entities must consider and make a determination as to whether to adopt. These standards include PURPA (11) net-metering, (12) fuel sources, (13) fossil fuel generation efficiency, (14) time-based metering and communication, and (15) interconnection.

On June 28, 2007, the South Central Indiana REMC Board of Directors adopted positions on the PURPA Standards 11-15. Click here to see the position taken on each of these five standards.
