Storm Updates
This page provides updates on current large-scale weather-related outages. Please note that when a high number of members are experiencing service disruptions, it may not be possible to determine every individual outage cause.

Additional strong storms are forecast for our area today, and we encourage members to stay weather-aware and be prepared for changing conditions.
Yesterday’s chain of storms brought high winds that caused significant damage across our system. Crews are currently responding to over 185 isolated outage locations throughout our service territory. Thanks to the hard work of our crews, along with assisting crews from neighboring electric cooperatives and contractors who have been working alongside us since yesterday, outages have been reduced from nearly 8,000 affected members last night to approximately 1,900 members still experiencing outages.
Crews remain focused on safely restoring power as quickly as possible while also monitoring today’s developing weather conditions. Please continue to monitor the forecast, be prepared for additional storms, and know how to report an outage if your service is affected.

SCI REMC crews worked through the night restoring power following the severe storms that impacted our service territory yesterday evening. Outages have been reduced from nearly 8,000 affected members to around 3,800 members without service this morning.
Crews are responding to more than 90 outage locations and continue to encounter significant storm damage, including broken poles, downed lines, damaged equipment, and fallen trees. We are grateful for the support of neighboring REMCs and contractor crews who have joined our team to help with restoration efforts.

SCI REMC is currently experiencing outages in several locations across our service territory. Crews will be on their way as quickly and safely as possible.
We understand that power outages can be frustrating, and extended restoration times during large-scale outages can add to the stress. While it may appear that the issue is isolated to a tree limb or a single problem near your home, outages are often caused by multiple issues across the electric system.

Electrical Safety
Safety is our top priority. Downed power lines are extremely dangerous and should always be treated as live and energized.

Prepare Before the Storm
Preparing ahead of time can help keep your family safe and comfortable during a power outage. Keep flashlights, batteries, bottled water, nonperishable food, and charged devices readily available, and always stay away from downed power lines, treating them as energized at all times.
