What would be your priority or goal if elected on SCI REMC’s Board of Directors?

If elected, I would seek to improve the reliability of our electric service to our REMC members, to minimize power outages, to get power back on faster when an outage happens (and) to prioritize improvement of the safety of REMC workers, (and) to constantly focus on new ways to keep our light bills as LOW AS POSSIBLE, as many of our REMC members are struggling to pay their monthly bill. So, my fellow REMC members, cast your vote for Lawrence Alden, for improved reliability, lower rates if possible, and a safe workplace for our employees. Thank you for your vote!

What role should SCI REMC play in supporting the communities we serve beyond providing electric and internet service?

REMC should continue with Operation RoundUp, and also should try to partner with various local charitable organizations and other assistance programs, to help our members cope with much higher light bills, especially older folks on a fixed income, and those with young children in their home, on a very low income. Sometimes being benevolent has rewards that may not be apparent immediately, but will prove to be a wise choice in the long run. So, if you want to see SCI REMC support our communities in ways beyond electric and internet services, cast your vote for Lawrence Alden.

How would you stay connected to the concerns and ideas of the members you represent throughout your term?

If I’m elected as director of SCI REMC district 6, I plan to make myself available to every member in district 6, by cell phone or by US mail, or, by visiting them in person, to try to help them with any REMC related concern, and to listen to any ideas they may have concerning any REMC issues. Our REMC member concerns are also my concerns, and their ideas are also important to me, as sometimes their ideas are better than the ideas being used currently. I’m always looking for ways to do things better. So, vote for Lawrence Alden.
