Yes. SCI REMC is replacing all current meters with upgraded meters. This upgrade is essential to providing faster response to outages, real-time reconnections and building a more robust electric system.
All SCI REMC members, both residential and commercial, will receive the meter upgrade.
The project began in late 2025 with backend preparation and will take up to three years to complete as we replace all meters across our service area.
