Wired to Create Student Art Contest

Indiana students in kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to participate in the Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ Wired to Create Student Art Contest. Students do not need to be members of an electric cooperative to enter.

This year’s theme asks students to create artwork showing the people, places or activities that help power Indiana and keep our state moving forward. Artwork may highlight Indiana landscapes, agriculture, community helpers, local landmarks, businesses, everyday life, electricity or a creative vision of Indiana’s energy future.

Students will compete in four grade divisions: K–2, 3–5, 6–8 and 9–12. First place winners receive $200, second place winners receive $100 and third place winners receive $50. Honorable Mention recipients will receive a ribbon, and one Best of Show winner will receive an additional $100.

Entries must be original artwork created by the student. Digital artwork and photographs are accepted, but artwork created or significantly altered using AI is not eligible. Each entry must also include a brief artist statement of at least one sentence explaining how the artwork connects to the theme.
Artwork can be submitted online or by mail.

The deadline to enter is March 5, 2027.
