Energy Explorers Day Camp

South Central Indiana REMC’s annual Energy Explorers Day Camp gives students entering 4th through 6th grade the opportunity to learn more about their electric cooperative through hands-on activities and interactive experiences. Campers will enjoy a fun and educational day featuring a live line safety demonstration, bucket truck rides, department-led activities, and more.

Requirements and Guidelines:
– The student’s parents or guardians must be members of SCI REMC and or have SCI Fiber.
– The student must be entering 4th, 5th or 6th grade
– A maximum of 40 students will be enrolled in the camp.

Event Date: Friday, June 26, 2026 from 9 AM – 3 PM
Sign-Up Deadline: Friday, June 19, 2026

Food and Allergy Notice

We will be serving Papa John’s pizza, fruit cups, Capri Suns, and ice cream during the camp. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions we should be aware of, please let us know so we can make the appropriate accommodations and ensure their safety.

Waivers

All waivers must be agreed to and signed by the parent or guardian of the child in order to participate in the Energy Explorers Day Camp.

Release, Waiver and Indemnification Form

My child, who I have listed as the participant, has my permission to participate in a bucket truck ride at South Central Indiana REMC’s Energy Explorer Day Camp on Friday, June 26, 2026. By signing this release, the undersigned hereby agrees to indemnify, release, waive and hold harmless the REMC, as well as its subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees and agents, from any and all actions, or causes of action, claims, demands, liabilities, loss, damage or expense of whatsoever kind and nature (including attorney fees), which the above-described Participant, and the parents and/or guardian of Participant, if applicable, may hereafter suffer or incur by reason of bodily injury, including death, or by reason of damage to or destruction of any property, including the loss of use thereof, arising out of or during their participation in the bucket truck ride. I am not only giving my permission, but also saying that my child is aware of potential dangers of being lifted, and I have told him/her to comply with the safety rules stated by the trained professionals facilitating the activity. I realize that my child’s cooperation is needed for his/her own safety as well as the safety of others.

Camp Selection Process(Required)

I acknowledge that the selection process for students attending the Energy Explorers Day Camp begins with SCI REMC electric members followed by SCI Fiber members, with the maximum of 40 participants to attend the camp. This selection is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all interested participants.

Information Updates(Required)

If any information provided in the application changes (including drop-off/pick-up arrangements, emergency contacts, etc.), it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian who completed the application to notify SCI REMC of the updates.
