Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

• LIHEAP is a federally-funded grant program that helps low-income households meet their immediate home energy needs
• LIHEAP funds are distributed through local Community Action Agencies (CAA)
• Winter Protection: Electric service will not be disconnected between December 1 and March 15 for residential members who are eligible for and have applied for LIHEAP.
• Extreme Heat Protection: Electric service will not be disconnected on days when extreme heat is forecast (a heat index of 95°F or higher within the prior 48 hours) for residential members who are eligible for and have applied for LIHEAP during the current calendar year.
• Apply for Energy Assistance: LIHEAP is administered in Indiana by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA). To learn more or apply: https://www.in.gov/ihcda/homeowners-and-renters/low-income-home-energy-assistance-program-liheap/
