Take advantage of South Central Indiana REMC’s 2026 electric rebates! Enjoy savings on electric outdoor equipment, water heaters, an upgrade for your HVAC unit or just some TLC for your HVAC system.

The rebate process may take up to 5-6 weeks after verifying paperwork. Members can only apply for 2 rebates per year.

Heat Pump or Smart Water Heater

Rebate for a new constructed or replacing an existing water heater with a new heat pump or wi-fi-enabled electric storage water heater.

MINIMUM EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

Eligible Equipment: New or replacement heat pump water heaters or Wi-Fi-enabled electric storage water heaters.
UEF Rating: Must be ≥ 0.90.
Installation Location: The unit must be installed in a home served by SCI REMC.
Wi-Fi Units: Must have built-in Wi-Fi capabilities (not stand-alone equipment).

Mini-Split Heat Pump

Rebate for single room or whole home installations.

MINIMUM EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

Must be installed in a home served by SCI REMC.
SEER2 ratings must be obtained from the AHRI certificate.
An AHRI Certificate must accompany the application and invoice to be qualified. You can obtain the AHRI certificate from your contractor or from the manufacturer.

Whole Home

SEER2 rating ≥ 17.3
HSPF2 rating ≥ 7.5

Single-Room

SEER2 rating ≥ 17.3
HSPF2 rating ≥ 7.5

Geothermal Heat Pump

Rebate for a new constructed geothermal heat pump or replacing another electric resistance heat, gas, heat pump or geothermal.

Desuperheater is recommended, but not required. Equipment must be installed in primary residence.

MINIMUM EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

Rebate Amount: $2,000
Efficiency Ratings: No minimum SEER2 rating required.
Installation Location: The unit must be installed in a home served by SCI REMC.

Air Source or Dual Fuel Heat Pump

Rebate for a new constructed heat pump or replacing another electric resistance heat, gas, A/C or heat pump. Rebated equipment must be
installed in primary residence.

MINIMUM EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

Efficiency Tiers:
- Tier 1: $300 rebate
  - SEER2 rating: 14.3 – 15.3
  - HSPF2 rating: ≥ 7.5
- Tier 2: $400 rebate
  - SEER2 rating: 15.4 – 17.2
  - HSPF2 rating: ≥ 7.5
- Tier 3: $500 rebate
  - SEER2 rating: 17.3 & up
  - HSPF2 rating: ≥ 7.5
Installation Location: The unit must be installed in a home served by SCI REMC.
Certification: SEER2 ratings must be verified via the AHRI certificate.

HVAC Tune-Up

Rebate for maintenance tune-ups for air source heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps and central air conditioning systems.

HVAC unit must be located in a primary residence served by South Central Indiana REMC.
Unit must be 3 or more years old.
The tune-up must be performed by a licensed HVAC contractor with itemized receipt. Members must submit a copy of the AHRI certificate.
