SCI REMC is Currently Experiencing Outages

SCI REMC crews, along with assisting REMCs and contractors, are continuing to restore power following the severe storms on August 11 and 12. Crews are currently addressing more than 185 separate outage locations and repairing extensive damage, including broken poles, downed lines, damaged equipment, and fallen trees.

What Is TextPower?

  • TextPower is an electric outage notification program
  • South Central Indiana REMC will be able to communicate basic electric outage information with members registered for TextPower via text
  • We understand that when your power is out, communication can be difficult

How It Works

  • With a simple text, you can report your electric outage quickly and efficiently
  • Simply text “OUTAGE” to 765-505-7005 to report an outage and then follow the prompts
  • This will report your electric outage to the cooperative
  • You will receive an outage confirmation text as well as updates throughout your power outage
  • Text “STATUS” to receive restoration updates specific to your outage
  • Text “STOP” to no longer receive text from TextPower
